How to Install Antivirus Software













Installing anti-virus software on your PC will protect the system from malicious programs you might encounter on the Internet. A few viruses might assault your system and reason it to crash. Others scour your hard drive for individual information such as praise card numbers, then transmit the information to a hacker when you log onto the Internet. Virtually all viruses will slow down the performance of your PC and potentially create the operating platform unbalanced. In some cases, a virus can destroy all the information on your HDD. Anti-virus software catches and kills these bugs previous to they can infiltrate your PC.

Installing From a compact disk


  1. Load the anti-virus CD-ROM into your disc tray and shut, and then wait for the compact disk menu to show onscreen.


  1. Type in the creation security code in the boxes on your screen. The security code is printed on the back of the plastic casing for the CD-ROM containing your anti-virus software.

 
  1. Go behind the on-screen prompts, clicking "Yes" when asked, "Do you desire to install this software?"

 
  1. Restart your PC when the installation is full. This involves shutting down and restarting the PC so the anti-virus settings can take effect.

 
  1. Go to an anti-virus software corporation site on the Internet to purchase an anti-virus program. A few offer trial versions of anti-virus programs for without charge (see Resources).

 
  1. Decide the software product you desire to purchase from the company's menu of contributions and click "Buy Now" or "Download Now."

 
  1. Enter your credit card and other individual information in the required fields to purchase the software, and then press "Enter."

 
  1. Go behind the on-screen prompts, clicking "Yes" when asked if you wish to download the software to your PC.

 
  1. Wait for the download to full. This could receive several minutes, depending on the speed of your Internet connection. Do not log off the PC or change any setting until the software has over downloading to your system. Restart your PC if prompted at the finish of the download.
